Itinerary for "100th Birthday of Kim Il Sung Veteran tour" 12-21 April 2012

Important! The itinerary below is a PRELIMINARY one. Korea Konsult reserves the right to change some parts of the itinerary below if needed. Eventual itinerary changes after the group arrival in the DPRK are beyond our control.

12 April: Departure from Beijing by flight at 14.00. Arrive in Pyongyang at 17.00 by flight, transfer to Pyongyang, dinner and then evening at Golden Lane Bowling Centre.

13 April: Korean Revolution Museum (on Mansu Hill), Three Revolutions exhibition (North Korean Economy achievements), Pyongyang Maternity Hospital, Lunch, Korea Fine Art Gallery, Kindergarten (kids live there the whole week from Monday to Friday), Pyonghwa Motors Exhibition (North Korean car shop), Taedonggang Diplomatic Club, Fast Food Restaurant.

14 April: Drive to Nampo, Nampo Children Orphanage, Chongsanri Cooperative Farm, Kangso Mineral Water Factory, Back to Pyongyang, Lunch, Drive to Sariwon, Sariwon Folk Street, Mt. Jongbang, Songbul temple, Back to Pyongyang. Koryo Hotel

15 April: Kumsusan Memorial Palace, Pyongyang Zoo (one of the buidings with reptiles is donated by Swedish Skansen), Lunch, Mansudae Monuments, Metro(5 stations), Kimilsungia Flower Show, Revolutionary Opera&Mass Games, Mass Dancing Evening, Kaeson Youth Funfair, very nice visit especially in the evening.

16 April: King Tangun Mausoleum (just from outside, to go inside costs 100 Euros.), Department Store (not Rakwon), Book Shop, Lunch, Drive to Wonsan, Ulim Waterfall, Check in Tongmyong Hotel (renovated hotel on the beach in Wonsan).

17 April: Drive to Hamhung (DPRK industrial center, recently open for tourists), Tonghungsan Park (with Kim Il Sung Sattue and nice view on the city), Hamhung Grand Theatre, Lunch, House of Ri Song Gye (Ri dynasty founder),  Hungnam Fertiliser Factory, Majon Beach, Overnight in Majon Guesthouse.

18 April: Drive to Wonsan, Wonsan Agricultural University, Wonsan Square, walk in the center, see the harbour, lunch at Local Restaurant, Songdowon Schoolchildren’s Camp, Chonsam Cooperative Farm (incl. visit of a family house, hairdresser and local shop), drive to Kumgangsan (Diamond mountains) stop at Sijung lake area for short rest. 

Kumgangsan area is a mix of North and South Korea because it was rented to the South until 2008 so you will see closed South Korean shops and restaurants, banks, abandoned hotels, very weird and interesting at the same time.  There's also a building for meetings between families separated by the Korean War.

Check in Kumgangsan Hotel (renovated by South Koreans).

19 April: Outer Kumgang: Trekking to Kuryong Waterfall, Picnic Lunch, Samil Lagoon, spectacular Sea Kumgang, overnight Kumgangsan Hotel.

20 April: Manmulsang (Outer Kumgang), Lunch, Back to Pyongyang, Farewell Dinner, overnight at Potonggang Hotel

21 April: Dep by flight to Beijing at 09.00, arrival in Beijing at 10 am
